By using this website and booking tutoring services with Ruby Kaufmann (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you (“the student,” “you”) agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before booking.
1. Services Provided
We offer online 1-to-1 English tutoring services via Google Meet. Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length, although the scheduled slot may be listed as 60 minutes to allow for transitions.
2. Booking & Payment
- All bookings must be made through our official platform at rubykaufmann.com.
- Lessons must be paid in advance via Stripe or PayPal.
- We offer one free 30-minute trial lesson per student.
- Packages must be used within the timeframe stated at purchase (8 weeks, with a 1 week extension upon request).
3. Rescheduling & Cancellation
- At least 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule or cancel a lesson.
- One short-notice cancellation (under 24 hours) will be excused per student. Additional short-notice changes may be charged.
- If we (the tutor) cancel within 24 hours, students may receive a free 20-minute extension on a future lesson.
- No-shows and repeated short-notice cancellations may result in loss of lesson credit.
4. Refund Policy
- Full Refund: You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided no lessons have been used.
- Partial Refund: If lessons have been used, the refund amount will be calculated as follows:
Refund = Amount Paid – (Number of Lessons Taken × $35) - Processing Time: Refunds are processed within 3 business days. Please note that your bank or PayPal may take an additional 5–10 business days to post the refund to your account.
5. Student Accounts
You may create an account via Amelia to view your bookings, manage appointments, and track package usage. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
6. Technology & Platform
Lessons are conducted on Google Meet. You are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and functioning audio/video setup. No refunds will be given for tech issues on the student’s end.
7. Code of Conduct
- We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate lessons for any behavior that is inappropriate, threatening, or abusive.
- Students are expected to participate respectfully and be on time.
8. Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide high-quality educational services, we are not liable for any outcomes beyond the scope of the lessons themselves (e.g., exam results, job placements). Services are provided “as is.”
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the website and services constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
